Welcome to this Testimonial Donut review!
I've been wanting to write a review of this tool created by Guy and Farzan, two indie hackers who have always been very supportive of my journey with Uneed.
Testimonial Donut is a tool for collecting, managing, and displaying customer reviews. These reviews can be in video or text format, coming from forms or Google reviews, etc.
Testimonial Donut's pricing is so interesting that I'll tell you about it right away: it's free π±! You read that right: the only constraint that might push you to upgrade to the premium plan is wanting to remove the brand's branding from your reviews. Incredible, right?
Now without further ado, let's try Testimonial Donut !
The first time you log into Testimonial Donut, you arrive at your widgets list, which is currently empty.
The other links are, in order:
Let's create a testimonial collector to see how it works!
Let me translate first, then help with the image layout:
To create a testimonial collector, you need to click on the "Create a testimonial collector" button. You'll then be prompted to choose a name for it, before being redirected to the form editor:
There are 5 steps to create this form:
That's a lot to fill in, but thankfully Testimonial Donut offers templates for each of these steps, which saves you time.
Once your testimonial collector is finished, all you have to do is share it with your customers so they can leave their reviews. Here's ours if you'd like to try it π.
The first important thing to mention is that you can import your existing testimonials automatically from Capterra, G2, GetApp, Google, and TrustPilot.
We're lucky, someone left a testimonial on our testimonial collection form π.
PS: When we receive a testimonial, Testimonial Donut sends us an email to notify us, which is convenient ππ»!
You can see that you have the option to approve or reject each testimonial: this is a very useful feature to prevent negative testimonials from appearing on your website.
The last step is to create a widget to display our fantastic testimonials on our site π₯!
After naming your widget, you can choose the testimonials you want to display.
You then have the ability to customize your widget by choosing the layout, color, borders, fonts, shadows, your links, etc. The customization is very extensive.
And finally, here's what our widget looks like on our site:
Amazing, right? π
And this concludes our Testimonial Donut review! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it, and that you now have a better idea of what this tool can do for you. I find unbelievable that such a tool can be free, and I can't wait to see what Guy and Farzan have in store for us in the future! The only thing I would like to see is the ability to import testimonials from other sources, but I'm sure it's on their roadmap π!
