I love to cook, but I can't stand most recipe websites. They're bloated with ads, full of irrelevant stories about how they were gazing at the stars when this recipe came down from above.
So, I started this as a fun project to get around that constant frustration. I built π drizzlelemons β a tool that extracts only the recipe from a given URL and formats it beautifully. That's it!
When I built the initial POC a few months ago, it was a hit with close friends and family. I ended up getting a lot of requests for improvements. Since the feedback was so positive, I decided to dedicate my evenings and weekends recently to polishing it up. The main features are:
Strip out ads and stories: Just pop in a recipe URL, and it'll extract the recipe and format it for you.
No more endless scrolling: The formatted recipe always shows the ingredients alongside the method steps, so you never have to scroll back and forth.
Unit conversion: Whether the recipe is in metric or imperial, it will automatically convert and display both.
Dish name search: Simply enter the name of a dish, and it will generate a recipe to the best of its ability.
Recipe adaptation: Want to make something gluten-free, vegan, or adjust servings? Paste in an existing recipe and tell the tool what to change.
Ingredient-based suggestions: Not sure what to cook? Just list the ingredients you have, and DrizzleLemons will suggest a recipe (this is one of my favourite features!).
